Felt food – Popcorn
Nico loves popcorn, so what is an easier decision than to make some nice and crunchy (ok, not so much the latter) popped corn for our little one as number three? Valerie had seen a few awesome looking popcorn samples out on the interwebs and we ended up with an irregular drawing that Valerie then folded up like a little potsticker (joining all three tips) and sewed around a small pompom, since we all agree that popcorn has to have some crunch and not be soft and cuddly.
And since popcorn usually comes in a nice container, Valerie re-purposed a box of Cherry Blossom, because it is a fairly small, but sturdy box that fits about 13 popcorns. To make it look a little more fitting, she also put some white cardboard around it and handwrote and drew on it – perfect fit and it shows that you don’t have to buy stuff to make it work, but just a little creativity can go a long way!
Here is a quick pattern of the basic popcorn shape. Valerie had eyeballed it until we found a pattern that worked well.
If you do this, we’d LOVE to see a photo of it. Email it to us or post it on our Facebook page. We’d love to do a Facebook album, a Pinterest board and a page of your creations
