Felt food – Ham sandwich

How about a nice ham sandwich? Exactly our thought! Nico has a little toy toaster with two slices of toast that pop out halfway to the ceiling and he loves them. So since he likes to play with them so much, we figured to give him a whole sandwich and not just stop at the bread.

For the bread I took the same foam that I had used for his French fries (very dense and thus sturdy), and cut it into the shape of a piece of toast, then cutting the felt accordingly, gluing it to the foam (again with the tacky glue), before measuring, cutting (yes, I am that experimental!) and gluing the darker edge to it to finish it off. After that it was just the cutting of the mustard splash, the cheese slice and the ham, the lettuce is a copy of the one that Valerie had already done for the cheeseburger and you have yourself a tasty looking ham sandwich!

Here are the patterns for the sandwich, ham and cheese as well as again the lettuce leaf (Valerie free-handed the veins in the leaf), I free-handed the mustard splat.

If you do this, we’d LOVE to see a photo of it. Email it to us or post it on our Facebook page. We’d love to do a Facebook album, a Pinterest board and a page of your creations :-)
