Craft sticks snowflake

I’ve seen this online done many different ways, this is our version :)

I use the sticks with a cut edge to make it more snowflaky but you can also use the regular ones or even smaller ones. I pre-glued the sticks the night before with tacky glue so they would be ready for him the next morning. He painted them all in white.

The versions I’ve seen online call for glitter to be put on when paint is wet, now that’s doable for older kids but he doesn’t paint fast enough to do so, therefore I put a line of glue on each “arm” of the snowflake and had him sprinkle glitter (his favorite!) on it.

After that was all dried he put a drop of glue in the middle…

… To put a little gem he picked out of his gem bag and finish of his snowflakes.

Here are all six of them.

Here’s one in the tree, looks nice, no?

If you do both sides, you could also hang them in the window :)

If you do this, we’d LOVE to see a photo of it. Email it to us or post it on our Facebook page. We’d love to do a Facebook album, a Pinterest board and a page of your creations :-)

Valerie is the creative mind behind "Glittering Muffins", stay-at-home mom of Nico, a little dynamo that is bursting with energy. He also is the inspiration behind the blog (and the name) with his keen interest in cooking, baking and, well, glitter. Valerie constantly is thinking about twists to the traditional arts, crafts and recipes to make them her own and is inspiring others while doing so. Outside of the blogging world, her main activity is Nico, with the occasional TV show (non-toddler related) and casual game here and there.
