Operation Intentional Kindness Challenge – Week 3

In week 2, the challenges were:

This week’s assignments for Operation Intentional #Kindness are:

  1. Write a real letter or card (on paper, email does not count) to someone just to say hello and share something positive.
  2. Buy a giftcard while dining out ($5 to $50 or more… your call!) and give it to someone at a different table. Or, bring an additional coupon and share it with a diner you do not know.
  3. Tip way more than normal at a restaurant, hair or nail salon or any place tipping is acceptable.
  4. Don’t talk on the phone while buying something at a store. Instead hang up when it is your turn (or don’t accept a call), look the cashier in the eye, smile, pay a compliment and say thank you when you leave. (Even if he or she was a little cranky.)
  5. Greet your kids with a warm smile when you see them after school and/or when you first see them in the morning. Do the same thing with your spouse first thing in the morning and when he returns from work in the evening.

Remember, you only have to choose three assignments to do each week, but you are always welcome to do more.

Thanks for joining in and sharing kindness with those around you!

We did #4 and 5 no problems. #2 we didn’t go out so couldn’t really do it.  #1 we did a quick “how was your day card” for the neighbour and put it in our mailbox for her to find coming home from work. The reason we didn’t mail one out was that I realized I know where people live and how to get there but I have no clue what their address is lol.

Here is the speedy version of the project, check here for the full quick version.

How about you, what did you do?

Week 3 has the following assignment list:

This week’s assignments for Operation Intentional #Kindness are:

  1. Plan a family act of kindness to do at some point over the next 4 weeks. Make sandwiches and deliver them to homeless people. Volunteer for an afternoon in a food pantry. Join in on a service project your church is doing. Write the date on your calendar and make it happen.
  2. Read an extra story at bedtime. Or read a story to your neighbor’s child. Or read stories to the kids at Barnes & Noble in the storytime area.
  3. Print out a photo of a friend or friend’s child from a past event. Jot a note with it and mail it the old fashioned way to that friend.
  4. Pay for the person behind you at the drive-thru, or pay for a portion of the meal.
  5. Donate gently used sweaters, coats and blankets to a local church or homeless shelter to give to those who need it. Or find someone to donate them to yourself.

Remember, you only have to choose three assignments to do each week, but you are always welcome to do more.

Thanks for joining in and sharing kindness with those around you!

I like this week’s options :)   I think we’ll go with #2, 3 and 5. #2 we do a few times a week when he’s been extra good. Might do #3 twice with 2 old school friends, if I can get their addresses.  #5 is already schedule for Saturday, giving a friend with a younger baby all of Nico old clothes.

 What will you do?

If you do this, we’d LOVE to see a photo of it. Email it to us or post it on our Facebook page. We’d love to do a Facebook album, a Pinterest board and a page of your creations :-)
