Quick chocolate or cherry pie filling croissants

Valentine's Day dinner dessertThis was our quick dessert for our quickly improvised Lady Bug Café for Valentines Day dinner.

You will need:

  • A Pillsbury crescent tube (2 or 3 if you are more or want more)
  • Chocolate chips
  • Cherry pie filling

I laid out the dough like you normally would to make the crescents. Then I put 3 cherries from the filling in the middle (biggest area) of the crescent triangle, then I folded the dough over and sealed it to the bottom trying to make sure nothing was open. They all ended up folded differently.

Then Nico and I took chocolate chips and laid them all over the dough triangles, pressed them in a little and I “rolled” them into crescent shapes. I can never get those rolled properly, lol. 12-15 minutes in the oven and voilà! A quick dessert the kids can even help with :)

Valentine's Day dinner dessertWe even poked in some little Valentines Day themed decorations made by Nico.

If you do this, we’d LOVE to see a photo of it. Email it to us or post it on our Facebook page. We’d love to do a Facebook album, a Pinterest board and a page of your creations :)

Valerie is the creative mind behind "Glittering Muffins", stay-at-home mom of Nico, a little dynamo that is bursting with energy. He also is the inspiration behind the blog (and the name) with his keen interest in cooking, baking and, well, glitter. Valerie constantly is thinking about twists to the traditional arts, crafts and recipes to make them her own and is inspiring others while doing so. Outside of the blogging world, her main activity is Nico, with the occasional TV show (non-toddler related) and casual game here and there.
