I bought the beans to do crafts but I had a shallow container and he was bored so I dumped them in and we started to play. Ceramic piggy bank painting
Nico was 24 months (so pre-blog era) and he got this little piggy bank for his birthday to paint (you can get those at the dollar store). Let’s start with blue… Now the paint strip of little jars that comes with is just a pain to keep the lids open, so I had him pick two colors in my acrylic paint and poured them in little bowls instead. If you have a child, almost regardless of age, then will know that storage is key and that you can never have enough storage either. With Nico things became a little overwhelming with stuff being all over the place, so when we looked through the weekly flyers, we found a stand with different sized (and coloured) plastic bins and swooped right in. Painting without a brush 2
This time we went with 3 things only. The play dough cutting wheel, the brush that comes in the touch up hair dye kit (unused, from grandma) and a quick made up pipe cleaner brush (fold 3 pipe cleaners in half, tie a 4th one around 3/4 of it and make sure the tips are folded in to avoid pricking).
