Australia – Dot art buttons turtle
This month “Around the World in 12 Dishes” is going down under. Food wise all was good but craft wise I was totally uninspired, so I asked the group of mommy bloggers I’m part of and they came up with TONS of ideas. One that stuck with me was the Aboriginal dot art, because Nico loves to paint but I wanted to do it differently, so I got to think as to what was round… buttons!
I got a free-to-use image of a turtle online and traced it on a green foam sheet, so it would support the buttons better than paper. Perhaps a thick cardstock would work as well. So he buttoned his heart out, we even used them for the eyes.
After it was dried, we added glitter glue of course! At first he wanted to put some on the non-buttoned parts only but it ended up on all of the turtle
Now it’s on Dada’s (grandma) fridge.
While preparing this craft I also came up with this one.
