(August 12, 2012) Inspired by this fall sensory bin at 3 Dinosaurs this afternoon, I grabbed what I had on hand during nap time and made a search puzzles bin for Nico. I’m slowly introducing tot packs to him as he’s more into playing than anything else right now.
I took two bags of un-popped corn kernels and hid his laminated magnetic 2-piece puzzles of the Doc McStuffins and the Octonauts tot packs found on 1+1+1=1. I did cover the pieces showing in the pic, it was just so you could see. I put a small cookie sheet on each side of the bin, so when he got up from his nap he got digging. He had to separate Doc in one tray and Octonauts in the other.
He pretty much did this on and off for 1h30. I showed him that by putting the found head on top and found feet on the bottom, if they didn’t match the head on top, he had room for all the puzzles. He also played with it the next day several times, adding his excavator and other machinery to help at time This was a 2 minute set up, I could have gone more complicated but he loved it as is
