Kids On the Go! – Exploring the Cranbrook Institute of Science, Bloomfield Hills, MI

It’s me, PlayDrMom, and I’m back to share another one of our favorite places to visit.  This time it’s a wonderful place that I’ve been visiting since I was a child … Cranbrook Institute of Science which is located in Bloomfield Hills, MI.  The science institute is part of (and located within) the campus of Cranbrook, which includes the Cranbrook schools (one of the largest private schools in the U.S … PK-12), Cranbrook Academy of Art (only graduate program in the U.S. solely devoted to fine arts education) , Cranbrook Art Museum,  and the Cranbrook House and Gardens (40 acres of lush gardens and one of Michigan’s oldest manor homes).

The Institute is also Michigan’s Museum of Natural History.  It has wonderful permanent exhibits, as well as traveling ones.  There is a wonderful planetarium and on going educational programs throughout the year.  Tons of fun, hands-on discovery for people of all ages!!!
