Year-end round-up – the 12 most popular post of the year
2012 is (almost) past and with that the first year of “Glittering Muffins”. And it has changed things in our lives a little, because while we’ve always taken plenty of photos, we now look out for cool ideas, brainstorm for new ones and find ourselves amidst a very lively and inspirational community called the Kids Blogger Network, with many bloggers we had visited the blogs of in the past, but now are a part of. We even made some trips to meet some (hi MaryAnne, Jackie and Erin!)
So to celebrate our first blogaversary, we have decided to take a look back at the most popular posts of the last year and we will showcase the most viewed posts of each respective month instead of just tallying up the totals. So grab a cup of coffee, hot chocolate, tea or whichever other beverage you prefer, a plate of cookies (Valerie – what about popcorn?), sit back and enjoy a travel through Glittering Muffins’ first year.
January – Rainbow Painting Surprise. Nico discovering the beauty of rainbow painting and wanting to share with others
February – Sensory Bath-Kitchen Fun in the Tub. Since he is such a huge fan of cooking and baking, we figured we should combine it with his love of baths.
March – Being A Mom. One of the deepest and most heart-felt posts ever, with mothers from around the world expressing their thoughts on what it means to be a mom.
April – Fillable Egg Carton Easter Bunnies. A quick and easy craft for Easter that Nico loved to paint (and of course glitterize) and also gave him some room to put some goodies inside!
May – Boys Have Long Hair, Too - Maman’s view & Dad’s view. As you probably guessed, we are discussing why we let Nico have long hair.
June – We Get It – Strong-willed. An essay on how we deal with Nico’s very strong will (and stubbornness).
July – Faux-tie-dye acrylic paint shirt. We didn’t want to go all out with tie-dye, so we found a faster and more fun way for Nico to do it!
August – Square Water Beads. Many of you know water beads, but check how Nico discovered that they also come as square instead of round?
September – Gender Stereotypes. Often we are faced with gender stereotypes when it comes to children, especially with a long-haired boy like Nico you run into them all over the place.
October – Real Fall Leaf Magnets. Have you ever wondered how to preserve the beauty of real fall leaves? Well, we found one that Nico could help us with by collecting the leaves and putting his own thumbprint on them!
November – Hand Print Reindeer Frame. Nico loves to do handprints, so we used them for a beautiful photo frame for the fridge.
December – Snowman Handprint Christmas Balls. Had I mentioned that Nico loves doing handprints? Well, here we used them for the perfect personalized Christmas ornament!
If you do this, we’d LOVE to see a photo of it. Email it to us or post it on our Facebook page. We’d love to do a Facebook album, a Pinterest board and a page of your creations
If you like what you see, follow us on Facebook to keep up to date with what we’re up to!
