Paper roll bats

Paper roll bats

After our Paper roll mummies and Paper roll cats, it’s now time for our last Halloween family – our Paper roll bats! They are closely related to our cats, since you need almost the exact same things to make them, which makes them so easy!

Paper roll bats - makingAgain I flattened the top of the roll and we glued them with tacky glue. We let them dry overnight with a clip to hold them. The next day I cut out the pointy ears/top of the head and I put an extra dot of glue into the ears and held them with a clip for a few hours to make sure they would stick together. Then he was able to paint them all black. We free-handed wings out of black construction paper, which he glued to the back and also added two little googly eyes for each of them (and of course, the bow for the Maman bat).

So overall with a just little bit of prep (mostly for the cats and the bats) you can make some cute little Halloween decorations that are not scary and easy for the kiddos. Hope you had fun with our families, we would love to see your family as mummies, cats and bats, too.

Mummies cats & bats

So now you have all three families together, the mummies, the cats  and the bats :)

If you do this, we’d LOVE to see a photo of it. Email it to us or post it on our Facebook page. Don’t forget to also follow us on Pinterest and our “Around the World in 12 Dishes” series also has its own Pinterest boards for each country. We’d love to do a Facebook album, a Pinterest board and a page of your creations :)
