It is that time of the year again. Well, actually the time of the year, where the year we’re talking about is already gone… Sooooo… Let’s let this train of thought to its own derailment and continue on to what I actually wanted to talk about – a look back at the year 2013 and its 13 most popular posts. Why 13, you ask? Well, 13th year of the century (and millennium), so 13 posts, logical, no? And no, 13 is not an unlucky number, it’s just two numbers that happen to be together and also happen to be between 12 and 14.
If I have not yet completely confused you and you are actually still curious as to what this is all about – without much further ado (and confusion) here are the links to the posts that have been viewed the most during the last year:
On number one, we have our round-up of 18 DIY Advent Calendar ideas
One of the tastiest dishes to ever leave the Glittering Muffins kitchen has made it into our #2 spot and our Irish Soda Bread has spawned seven different versions so far and we’re still adding!
The third position is our participation in a multi-blog project focusing on different topics with one thing in common: following the ABC. In our case, it was The ABCs of Farming for Children!
We do not do a lot of reviews on the blog, but our review of Beth Gorden’s great book “Christmas Crafts for Kids” was such a success that maybe we should try this again…
So we have a boy who loves firefighters and there was a birthday party coming up (strangely enough we have that happening every single year, have you experienced something like that yourself?), so why not see that you can do a Simple & easy firefighter birthday party? Looks like many readers thought the same
Do you feel the need for
speed a date, but have no babysitter handy? No worries, go for a Family date night, it’s easy, simple and cheap!
After our Irish Soda Bread was such a big hit, we figured we’d go all bread for our second season of “Around the World in 12 Dishes” and would proceed to at least bake a bread for each country. Enter our French Bread for our “visit” to France!
Looking for a Christmas/holiday book? Or 2? Or 256? Well, however many you’d like, our round-up of 256 Holiday and Winter Books might have something for you!
How often does it happen that your at the time pretty anti-craft four-year-old comes up to you and tells you he wants to do a specific craft? Pretty much once. Happened with our Kid-made Dream Catcher, which he actually did another time for his (girl) friend
It only took us one and a half years, but we finally got around to putting all the passports and placemats for our “Around the World 12 Dishes” series in one near little place. Genius, you say? Yes, we know
Whoever came up with Pancake Day, was brilliant So for the second year in a row we have celebrated it and you should try making a Pancake sandwich, it works grrrreat! (And no, no Frosted Flakes were involved…)
Tired of jams being over-sugared? Well, then why don’t you just make your own Slow cooker strawberry jam? All you need is a slow cooker and some fruit! OK, a few other things, too, but it is really easy and even tastier!
Hadn’t I said something about not having a lot of reviews on the site? Well, a second one made it into our top list and do not doubt your reading skills – yes, it is completely in French, but Ziraf is a great series of educational etc. things
If you do this, we’d LOVE to see a photo of it. Email it to us or post it on our Facebook page. Don’t forget to also follow us on Pinterest and our “Around the World in 12 Dishes” series also has its own Pinterest boards for each country. We’d love to do a Facebook album, a Pinterest board and a page of your creations
