Beginning letter sound dinosaur tracks
For part three of Craftulate‘s 5-day series titled “Play, Craft and Learn with Dinosaurs” we are going outside for a really easy but efficient activity.

Nico loves the show Dinosaur Train, and they have an A to Z dinosaur song, so I thought it would be good to get his attention on listening to first letter sound.

So when we finally got rid of snow we drew some chalk dino feet with each letter of the alphabet (1 per foot). He helped out writing some of the letters :)

We made a list with the dino names but we also added more common words in English and French to give him more of a chance. You can download it here to print for free. I explained to him to listen to the first letter I say and he had to find it. I called the dino name pronouncing the first letter extra well and if he didn’t get it after a few tries I would move on to the regular words in English and French and pronounced them the same way. He’s not quite grasping the concept of sounds like a letter. To him letters are something totally separate from words, he’ll get it eventually :)
