Rice Krispie Dinosaurs

So it is the fifth day of  Craftulate‘s 5-day series titled “Play, Craft and Learn with Dinosaurs”…the fifth… oh, the last day! This means it is time for some food! You will not find a whole lot of dinosaur in the stores these days (must be out of season, I reckon), so what else can you do? Cookies. Been done a lot (even ourselves with our Dinosaur double chocolate cookies), so what else was there…? And two ladies came to the rescue – Mama Miss and her Dinosaur Rice Krispie Treats and Valérie by finding those treats :)

If you’ve followed our blog for a bit, you should be able to single out two of Nico’s favourite points of interest: Dinosaurs and food (making, still working on the eating), so combining them was an almost logical choice. Due to potsize restrictions we opted for halving the recipe, adding some mini chocolate chips (1/4 cup) and blue food coloring (we asked him which colour he wanted to make it more fun) and went to town. Well, to the kitchen, but that’s not the point here, right?

Rice Krispie Dinosaur makingSo the process was fairly easy: Melt the butter. Dump marshmallows, stir to melt. Dump rice krispies, stir in. Squirt in food coloring, stir in. Dump chocolate chips, stir in. Dump into a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Roll out, cookie cutter and badda-boom, badda-bing, you are done!
